2.1 to 2.2 JB question

Hi all
This may be a stupid question, but after searching the forum, I can't seem to find it. I have a JB 3G running 2.1 firmware. To upgrade to 2.2, do I have to do a "regular" upgrade to 2.2 in iTunes, THEN JB the newly upgraded 2.2, or can I go directly from JB 2.1 to JB 2.2?

I think you have to upgrade through iTunes first then JB.

none of the jailbreak software for 2.2 will work with the 2.1 version... you'll need to upgrade first.

yeah, its a pain, but you will have to upgrade then rejailbreak... I considered it an opportunity to start over and decide which jailbreak programs I really wanted. Make sure you have backed up your themes etc. if they were not installed via cydia...
