I'm about to buy a original iPhone on Ebay and I was just wondering if someone could let me know what the deal is with unlocking. Basically, I don't want to buy it and not be able to use it.
I have AT&T but I do not want a data plan with it, I just want to take my current sim, stick it in and have it work as a phone. (Going to use wifi for the browsing capabilities and stuff)
So, should I be worried that it might ship with a firmware version that can't be unlocked?
And should I be careful about updating it to the new 2.2 version or anything?
That probably doesn't make much sense, still trying to grasp all this stuff. Just wondering if someone could tell me I'll be fine.
