Getting my old music back

So this is close to a decade ago probably 2011/12, when you would still burn music from cds onto your itunes account. I had transferred my whole cd collection that I had onto itunes and subsequently my ipod. Since then ive had a few different iphones but never bothered with itunes on those because i had my ipod with my music. Now i've been trying to get all the music from my ipod onto my iphone but when i tried to sync with itunes on my computer it updated to the music i had bought on my phones. It's the same itunes account and i never deleted my old music but now its gone. Does anyone know any way to fix this please. thank you in advance.
