Since restoring iPhone I'm unable to backup on iTunes

When attempting to backup my iPhone I get an error massesge stating; "iTunes could not back up the "iPhone" because an error occured while reading from or writing to the iPhone".

I'm operaqting ffroma wondpws 10 pc that is up to date and an iPhone 7 whuch is also up to date along with the version of itunes I'm using.

I tried following the W+R %ProgramFiles...... DeviceBackupsDisabled as suggested from a search I have done but was unable to run this

Please can anyone help me please?

Read/write usually happens when permissions don't align.
Locate your iPhone backup files and check the permissions for the folder. Make the Privilege "Read & Write".
If your back up is corrupted, you'll need to move your back up files to another location, then delete the back up.
It could be an encrypted back up issue. If so, try this:
Disable Auto Lock
Disable Passcode
Have device unlocked when starting the restore
Hopefully, someone else may have a better solution.

I found the backup folder and the were set as read only. I attempted to uncheck box but it remains checked.

I removed it and attempted to backup on my pc but only met with same error.

I also notice iTunes does list my device although iTunes does recognise it.

Any idea how I can enable iTunes to backup my phone.

You also get 5 gigs of iCloud backup free. Have you tried that just to make sure it works?

When you clicked on your iPhone, did you check "on this computer"?

I can backup to to iCloud via device but still unable to backup to pc.

I always back up to iCloud. That's worked great for me since 2012. I don't even have a computer. At least you can do that. Then figure out the issue with iTunes.

I don't seem to anything in folder "MobileSynch", there are no backups there.

Does anyone have any idea how I can establish where this may now be?

You need to delete the drivers, reinstall iTunes and connect your iPhone to see if that does the trick.
