Problem Downloading SD content on iOS devices

I have set the download settings to SD on my iPhone and iPad mini yet iTunes insists on downloading the HD version (at 5.3GB vs 2GB). I am experimenting with this setting so the movie doesn't take up all the space on either device....yet its not working. I have tried this with Harry Potter #7 Part 2 movie....the iTunes listing says there is an SD version so this should be possible. Seems simple enough yet every time I try to download the movie, it notes that the full download is 5.3GB.

I seem to have missed the secret. Can anyone help?
