    I am trying to copying audio books from my iphone to my new mac. The books came from a CD, and I no longer have access to the computer that they originally lived on.

    If your books are backed up to iCloud, all you need to do is open iBooks on your new Mac & log in with your Apple ID. Once you do that, you'll have the option to download your books.

    I know on transfer tool named AnyTrans can transfer iPhone contents to computer. Maybe you can have a try.
