iPhone 6 Sync Headache

I've been trying for three hours to sync music to my phone from iTunes. When I do, the playlist will show up as being on the phone, but it doesn't contain music.

I unchecked the Sync music box, hit apply, then resync'd the music without any luck. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks!

Not to be a smarta$$ but is the music on you computer and not in the cloud, I have seen this before and someone I know kept trying to sync music that wasn't on the PC. Would have been there for a long time.

Any way or do you have iTunes Match enabled?

It's on a USB drive that I have iTunes set to. Should iTunes Match be on?
