    Hey all-

I've searched for an answer to this everywhere and can't find anything specific to my situation. I just got a new MBP and I was able to import my iTunes library from my old iMac using the Home Sharing feature. That part went great.

Now I'm not sure how to start using my new MBP as my primary device to sync my phone, iPad, etc... I'm afraid that when I try to sync it, it will wipe my phone, but more importantly, my messages, photos, settings, etc...

This is what I think may work but wanted to check with the imore experts before I do something dumb:

    1) Back up to iCloud on my old iMac.
    2) Sync phone on new MBP. (I anticipate getting the message that my phone will be erased as I've seen that before.) I do it anyway.
    3) Restore from back up.
    4) sync to new MBP

So, anyone know if that will work? Or do you know of a better/easier way?
