My installation stalled for a bit and I was forced to power down my MacBook. After it booted back up, it immediately began installing the OS. I don't know why it idid that, but it worked out well.

I uploaded 11.1.2 and the new iOS update today and now when I sync my iphone 5 to iTunes it gets stuck in "Waiting for Changes to be Applied" mode. Is anyone else having this problem?

No. It's a separate update. At least that's how it showed up for me.

Yes. It ended up re-syncing a bunch of music (still copying). I also noticed that my almost 3GB of "Other" has gone. At a guess, it's copying 3 gigs of music that had some sort of problem (or was incorrectly synced the first time) and it is cleaning it up now.

I've got the new firmware on my iPhone and the Other was still there. It was after I updated iTunes that it went away during this sync.

Scratch that. The "other" came back after the syncing was done...

Just updated to 11.1.2 and it took forever for it to finish syncing. I had to do a backup of my phone in order to break the cycle but all is well now. Also just received the OTA just now on my phone for 7.0.3 but not in iTunes yet which is what I will wait for.

As a datapoint, just updated to 11.1.2, and then synched i5S with 7.0.3. iTunes is configured to Automatically Synch/Backup with my computer. The full cycle didn't appear to take any longer than before with the prior two software versions.
