Ok, so my laptop with iTunes, my iPhone backups with contacts, apps, and all of my music died yesterday. My question is what do I do now? How can I sync my iPad and my iPhone to a new install of iTunes and not screw everything up.

    Please help me.

Do not sync your devices with iTunes if you haven't recovered your music and files from the old laptop - it WILL wipe everything out.

And unfortunately, you cannot just copy the stuff off of your devices, either. You need to find some third party software (senuti comes to mind as a solution)... or is there any way to get the music off your old hard drive? Maybe pull the drive and use a USB adapter?

But to restate the warning: syncing your devices with a new PC WILL wipe all of music/data and restore it as a new device.

Ok, so for anyone else who has had this problem, I think I have found the answer.

It is a program called Pod-to-PC
Pod to PC - iPod, iPad, iPhone Transfer to iTunes Software

    Check it out.
