iTunes 8.1 is now available

In case you missed it, iTunes 8.1 is now available for download.

Seems a little faster on my machine. Thing I haven't heard about was the iTunes DJ item.

iTunes DJ is a pretty cool new feature. Allows voting from iPhones to pick a the next song to play. Very cool party feature.

I downloaded it and I am syncing my phone now. It is taking a while to back it up now.

I think I figured out why it is taking longer. I might need to sync more often, I been syncing about once a week and I download a good bit of stuff in that amount of time and update a lot of apps.

So yeah its going to take longer, duh.

Was there always a 64 bit download for windows? I think there was, but just a bit fuzzy for some reason.

Everytime I try to download it, it says theres a connection problem with the server. Is anyone else having that problem?

I was using the Update link. I just went to Apple.com and downloaded it from there, then it seemed to work fine.

Got it, seems like it really is faster. At least browsing the store is, almost no slow down in loading pages.

Definately faster all around. The previous version would lag when searching for stuff in the iTunes store.

Upgrading to iTunes 8.1and it changed the default bit rip rating of 128 to default of 256. Wondering why all the new songs were filling room fast but just changed the default setting back.

I can't sync my phone since I downloaded and installed iTunes 8.1.0.52. I even uninstalled and re-installed w/ no success. Any ideas??

What happens when you try to sync? Mac or PC? iPhone 2.2.1? Jailbroken?

I'm on a PC & have a 3G phone w/ version 2.2.1 loaded. The sync gets stuck in an endless loop w/ the contacts & doesn't progress from there. If I un-check the calendars, it does sync but takes almost 30 minutes. I don't have any music on it & only about 500 contacts so it shouldn't take so long to sync. Sometimes the apps don't sync either.
