I have an 80gb 5th gen ipod classic. A couple of years ago I replaced the battery because it wouldn't hold a charge anymore, just recently I had a problem with it losing battery power after it is disconnected from the dock stations I have. So I changed the battery again and it's still losing power. I make sure it is off, sometimes it's dead if it sits overnight, but not all the time. Can someone tell me what is going on here?

I don't know what's happening with your device, but I can only assume you may need to rest the OS and allow it to be in sync with your new battery. Again, I'm only guessing. Hopefully, others will reply with more suggestions or a specific answer to your dilemma.

Could be a bad battery. I would try another battery.

Welcome to iMore! If you're losing battery while not using your iPod it's generally going to be software related. Are you updated to the latest OS? You might want to try restore to factory settings and then reload your music. Follow the link for instructions.
