should i get my turning 6 brother an ipod or an ipad mini?

its just a hard one to decide plus i dont wanna ask him cause hell probably figure out!

Buying an ipod is like buying an iphone 4. Get the Mini.

I agree with others. Get the mini. The second and third generation are identical spec wise other than the third gen has fingerprint scan

Sorry to say, I would say neither of 'em. He is just 6 and at this age, he should go out and play. Get him a skateboard, a bike, baseball kit etc. No offence here.. Sorry

LOL. And my reaction would be why did you wait so long? By age 6, it's a little late. An amazing amount of learning goes on prior to that and educational apps can be a tool. Many k3 and k4 classes utilize ipads. Why wouldn't parents?

Mini most certainly Price is $249 in the states I believe for the Mini or for $50 more, you can get him the Mini 2 which is even better than the Mini. I'd recommend staying away from the Mini 3 just because it wasn't even much of an upgrade over the Mini 2 except for the finger print scanner and the colored option.

My vote is for the iPad mini... Or mini 2!

I agree with the previous poster as well.... That's why I got the mini 2, didn't think the Touch ID and colour option was worth the extra $$$. Great deal either way.

Gotta agree with Mini. iPod was cool as heck when it first came out but man is it old now! It's only real remaining asset is the camera and wrist strap (I still use mine on trips all the time as a digital camera. It's great!) and I don't know how useful either of those things would be for a six year old.

If money isn't an issue go with the better hardware - the ipad. However, my kids have their own ipods and never complain about performance or inability to get any game. Who knows how long that will continue. For know they work great.

They have access to an ipad as well. They prefer the portability of the ipods by far and only go to the ipad when their ipod battery is low.

They are 6 and 11.
