While cleaning out a closet today, I happened upon an old 80gb iPod classic that belongs to my daughter. She has since upgrade a couple of times and doesn't use it any longer.

Well, I would like to use it myself. I charged it, and it works fine, but I went to the settings and it still shows up as her iPod. I would like to completely restore it to the factory settings.

However, the kicker is that she is at college, and so I can not connect to her computer/iTunes to do a restore.

What can I do to fully restore this iPod? I don't want to simply connect it to my iTunes account, because I don't know what it could do to my account or the iPod.

Would it think someone stole the iPod and lock it or do something weird to my account?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just hook it up to your computer and restore it with iTunes.

Yea it won't do anything to your iTunes on its own. Just connect it, and restore it.

Can you completely wipe it from the iPod before connecting to your itunes?
