Why can't i jailbreak ios 5.0.1 with tethered?

whenever i try to jailbreak my ipod touch 4g running ios 5.0.1 with the redsnow tethered jailbreak for ios 5.0.1.Every time it says that unrecgonized build and fingerprint and lots of random numbers and letters. PLS help.

Did you point redsn0w to the 5.0 IPSW? If not, download it and then go to Extras on redsn0w and go to select IPWS. Then locate the file. Then try to jailbreak again.
