I am trying to get some metrics and I figured what better way than to reach out to the amazing diverse members of iMore.

Here is the question:

Do you have a passcode on your iPhone? If so is it longer than 6 characters.

Post why or why not.

Yep!
And only 4.

Because I had to put one in but I always use my fingerprint sensor.

Yes, I've used a 4 digit passcode for 5 years. But use Touch ID most of the time. I thought about going with 6 digits, but didn't. Works for me.

Yup. 6 digits. But only because it is required for Touch ID. I'd imagine thats the majority. When I was selling cell phones everyone set up a passcode so they could take advantage of touch ID. It really did increase device security. Prior to that, a lot of customers I worked with found passcodes to be an inconvenience.

Yes I do. 6 digits. It gives me a peace of mind just in case someone gets their hands on my iPhone. I always use the touch ID unless my password is needed.

Touch ID and the 4 digit code. I kept with 4 digits when Apple upped the possibilities.

I figured if 4 digits is sufficient to keep my bank card safe it's also the same for the contents of my iPhone
