My iPhone shut down. Can't get it to turn on

When taking a picture my iPhone shutdown. I've plugged it in for several hours and I can not get it to turn on. I've held the on button 20 seconds thinking would reboot it. Still can't get it to turn on. Anything else u can do before heading to Verizon

First of all, connect the device to your computer to see if iTunes detect it. If so, the device is more than likely in DFU mode. If iTunes does not detect it, simultaneously press and hold both the home and power buttons until you see the  logo. Afterwards, let the device boot up to the lock screen. If that doesn't work, make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store.
