Iphone 4 audio problems

My iPhone 4 has started to make scratchy noises through the speaker at playback. At first its occationally but after a few seconds the audio disappears totally and leaves only the scratchings. (Sound a bit like coffeemachine)

I changed the speaker, which helped the first minute or two, when the problem reoccurred.

I've tried DFU but unsuccessfully. Actually I found out that when disconnecting the battery I get same behaviour as when I changed the speaker.

Any ideas on what could cause these symptoms.
