It's even better. Since the iPad charger is a 12W charger compared to the regular 5W charger we get with the iPhone, the iPad charger will charge the iPhone significantly faster I use it to charge mine everyday.

Furthermore, if you have a MacBook running Yosemite and if you plug in your iPhone through the USB to charge it will give you the same 12W power to charge

The 6 and 6+ are the only 2 phones to take advantage of the quicker charging using the iPad chargers if I'm not mistaken, but I may be wrong.
