When I receive a call on beta 2 the image is full screen, when I answer the picture reverts to the small chat head.

I like the small pic once I answer as it is easier to see all the call options that you have during a call.

Battery life was on par with 7.1.1 when I had beta 2 installed on my iPhone 5....

I'm not on beta, but it seems that question would be difficult to answer. Too many variables to consider. A test would have to be done in a controlled kind of way. I mean, I hear both, "better battery life" and "less battery life". It's like asking, "How long is a rope?".
