iCloud issues

Apparently my iCloud is full. Therefore I cannot back up any more data. I have gone to settings and adjusted just the apps that I would like to be backed up whenever I do back my device up through my cloud. However in order for me to back up new data in the important apps it's asking me to delete the previous backup and storage so does that mean I'm going to lose everything that I've already backed up the entire time?

How can I go ahead and add just the data from the selected apps to what's already out there and delete certain things and not others?

Delete the old backups and make a new one right away. You'll have all the info that's on your phone that you want backed up.
