I was discussing the lack of supply for certain models and size of iPhones, hence spawned this thread.

    1. What size (16GB, 32GB or 64GB) iPhone/iPad device do you normally buy?
    2. Is this size based on having content locally, easy access or you simply like to have all your stuff in one place?
    3. Do you steam a lot of films, music, and the likes, too, despite the storage space on your device?

I'm merely curious, and trying to spark conversation

Usually, I've bought 8GB because they were cheaper. I then went up to 16GB but I have a lot of music 1000+ songs & I download a lot of apps. I kind of regret buying a 16GB 5S but it was free so I couldn't turn that down. I should've just spend the extra $50 and got a 32GB..

I purchased two 32gb for my wife and I, that size is great for my wife as she doesn't use her phone the way I do. I wish I would have gotten the 64gb for myself, I have/use a lot more apps then she does not to mention my music library. I like to keep everything with me and not worry about "streaming" from the clouds. I don't like managing space and/or keeping an "eye" on my availble space

I don't want to say that size does not matter, BUT for me cost is a factor, and I opt for the smaller sizes for the lower cost. Since the iOS devices are not my main devices. I also use BB and Android, I just have an ipad or ipod touch for the iOS eco system. For those apps I can't get anywhere else or that I prefer on iOS. I don't need to have a ton of storage because I don't keep too much music or videos on the device. I time shift when needed, putting on music and videos to suit my mood, or just using streaming, such as Pandora, or iTunes Radio, or the video streaming stuff.

    EDIT: Great topic Ivan!!!!!!!!

I went to Best Buy today to get my iPhone 5s GOLD. Well guess what? In Atlanta, Kennesaw and Acworth all the computer systems for the mobile phone section was down. Flipping Nora!

Now I'm wondering if it was all a sign? Anyway Best Buy opens at 10:00 tomorrow and yes, I'll be there...

I've been going with 32 or 64 GB for a long time. I realized last year that I didn't need as much space on my iPhone because 32 GB was more than enough space. I haven't looked back yet. I stream most of my music and videos, so I don't need to store it. If I cleared my pictures from time to time I'd have even more space but 16 GB is simply way too small.

I always bought the highest capacity available at the time, 3G (16 GB) and 4 (32GB). I store a lot of content locally. I do stream as well, but I used to use my phone as my MP3 player and bought a lot of music videos/ TV shows content from iTunes. This time I'm going for the 64GB iPhone 5S.

I always buy 16GB - never had to up storage. I use cloud services (Dropbox for pictures and some docs, Evernote for docs, google drive for docs, skydrive for some music and photos and docs and icloud). There's like 66 apps and 234 songs on my phone and some pictures and I have 5GB left. If I needed more memory I would upload everything to the cloud 😁

I started off with a 32 GB 3rd gen iPod touch (January 2010) which gave me more than enough storage, then I got a 32 GB 4S (December 2011) since I though that 32 GB would be enough again, I got a 32 GB 5th gen iPod touch (October 2012) to store movies that I have and for streaming videos. This time I got a 64 GB 5S cause I was running out of room on my 4S and now I might get the 128 GB since I'm nearing the limit of my 5S

Its obvious that everyone uses storage capacity in different ways...Cell phones have come a long long way in approx ten years, I'm just glad there is some kind of cell/smartphone for everyone...SMILE

I usually go for whatever the middle model is (so 32 in this case) but it's 100% because of price. If they were more affordable I'd go for the bigger model.

    2. Is this size based on having content locally, easy access or you simply like to have all your stuff in one place?
That's the reason I want a larger one as a rule. I would prefer to keep more media local for easy access or for when I'm in an area with spotty internet service.

    3. Do you steam a lot of films, music, and the likes, too, despite the storage space on your device?
I do. My phone has enough space to keep a decent amount of my stuff, but anything else gets saved to the cloud and streamed.

The Mophie space case looks to be an amazing product, I would definitely recommend that to anyone needing a battery case or more space for their phone.
