XS Max as a USB hard drive?

Hello, I recently bought a digital converter box for my smart tv so I can watch channels via a digital antenna. There is a female USB slot on the converter box to hook up an external hard drive for downloaded movies, pics etc. Can I buy an Apple USB to lighting cable and connect my XS Max to the converter to use my phone as an external hard drive? Thanks

That will not work. At best, your iPhone will be seen as a digital camera and you will be able to see pictures you have taken, but it is more likely that it will not be able to read data from the device.

If your DTV Converter Box supports AirPlay, you might be able to use that.
