I am noticing warm yellowish tint on my XS Max though true tone & night shift are switched off, is this by default on these phones as I was reading somewhere that this year iPhone screens are warm by default but some people are not liking it may be a software update would fix it.

I have True Tone turned ON (Night Shift is OFF) so I sometimes get a warmer hue but I just switched True Tone OFF to compare and it is definitely not yellowish, at least not on my phone. If you think something might be wrong with your iPhone it’s never a bad idea to have Apple look at it.

I suppose it’s also worth noting that I’m running the iOS 12.1 developer beta so it’s always possible Apple has made an adjustment compared to the current iOS 12 GM.

I have read this also, however I have True Tone and Night Shift turned off as well and I'm not experiencing this "warm yellowish" tint on iOS12

If your last phone had an LCD then you will think your screen is yellow. I thought the same thing as well coming from the 8 plus

Makes sense. I came from an iPhone X so maybe my eyes are just used to the warmer hue.

Humm, I'm coming from a 7 Plus (LCD), and I'm not seeing this "yellowish" tint at all. Maybe my eyes are weird.

My screen was extremely yellow when I first got my phone and was using my 8 plus as well. Now, it isn't yellow and probably my eyes got adjusted

Perhaps I posted this somewhere else before, but what you are experiencing is the adhesive used for screen which initially gives yellowish tint. But as it is being cured over time, it gradually lost the tint. Every time I purchased a new phone, it clearly shows the tint while my old one side by side shows crisp white screen with an almost blueish tint. I knew it was also showing the yellowish tint when I first purchased it (the old one). Since this discovery, the tint never bothered me.

The only time i notice a yellowish tint on my XS is when night shift activates. Otherwise it always seems to be pretty neutral, maybe just slightly bluish at times.
