Just wondering why these aren't at the iPhone XS Max screen resolution when they are downloaded?
The downloaded wallpaper is only 947 × 2048.
Rather than the 2688x1242 resolution of the iPhone XS Max.

I’m having the same issue. I believe Tapatalk scales the resolution down.

Same thing happens if I save an image from Twitter. Seems that forums and Twitter changes the resolution

Thats a shame.
I know on the MacRumours forum, their wallpapers threads. When you download them, their resolution remains the same as it was originally uploaded in. It doesn't change it. Pity the iMore forum isn't like that.
Same thing happens if I save an image from Twitter. Seems that forums and Twitter changes the resolution

Yeah, forums and Twitter change the size of the wallpapers. But it's the mb size they worry about. When they lower the mb size, it changes the resolution. That's why, on Twitter, many wallpaper creators send you to a site or app to get the wallpapers. But I've found the difference between say an X wallpaper at 1125x2436 and 946x2048 to be negligible. Even zooming it, I don't see much difference. If you get one from a site that's say 1800x4000, with a mb size of 4 mb, and the forum reduces it, then you might notice a difference. But not much of one. It'll still look nice.

No, MacRumors cuts the resolution as well. When I post a wallpaper at 1301x2820, it's cut to 945x2048.

It's the forum that scales them down. If you save one from the iMore site online in Safari mobile, it's a reduced resolution. TapaTalk has limits too though.

Ive never noticed it on there.
If I download 1920x1080 wallpapers, they are 1920x1080 when I look at the resolution.
Same goes for the 2560x1440 ones that I download for my iMac.

Yes, because that size is within the mb limit for images. When I post this 1920x1080 here, it stays the same.
But posted at the Max size, it's reduced to 947x2048.
