    So, if I have 2 numbers on Verizon, I can’t use one phone?
    I'm not quite sure. From the way it reads, it would sound like you can't -- since it states that if the first SIM is CDMA the second will not support CDMA. OTOH, from what I've seen, Verizon is largely useable on a "GSM" phone -- that it will run solely on LTE. While running LTE only can effect coverage, since you get no service in areas without LTE. So I'm not sure what the answer here is -- I suspect you'd need to ask Apple for clarification, as their statement is rather vague. It is even possible Apple doesn't have the answer yet, until the update is released that allows the dual SIM capability.

    Didn’t that whole thing end on August 1st this year? I believe they can carrier lock them again.
    To clarify nothing came about that Verizon locking devices again. They are still unlocked. You can even check their device locking policy in their page. The only devices they lock to Verizon are certain out of the box prepaid phones on prepaid service
