Ugh can’t believe my iPhone XR is frozen

Have you tried to force a restart?

1. Quickly press and release the volume up button
2. Quickly press and release the volume down button
3. Hold the side (power) button until your iPhone restarts

Hahaha happy to help! Restarting an iPhone X or newer reminds me of playing Nintendo as a kid and using secret button combinations on the controller.
Explaining how to restart an iPhone used to be such a straightforward process. Now there are literally three different methods, all dependent on which model the user has.

... And todays lesson is (wait for it) ALWAYS listen to Rob! ;)

I was trying the iPhone 7 way and getting frustrated! Rob is right, now there are 3 different ways to do it. 6 and earlier power and home button, 7 & 8 power and volume down, and now X and up press and release volume up, then press and release volume down, THEN hold power! lol

Nope, iPhone 8 is different than the 7 and like the X and beyond:

On an iPhone 8 or later: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.
