In answer to your question, my first choice is chargers manufactured by Apple. My second and third choices are chargers manufactured by Anker or Amazon Basics. The important thing to look for in a charger is that it’s MFi certified. To learn why Apple recommends this read here:

Do you have an iPad or a MacBook? If so, use the charging block either of those to charge your iPhone.

I have a macbook pro 2017 that has a 61w charger...would that be too strong and hurt the phone?

i also have the 18w charger from my pixel phone....im guessing thats the same thing as the apple adapter. Would need a usb to lightning cable to use either of those charger adapters. Does brand matter?

would it be better to use the 18w as that what is advertised for it or does the 61w offer that much more speed?

You can use the 61W charger from your Pro to fast charge your iPhone X. Only provision is you need to use an Apple Lightning to USB-C cable.

The Wirecutter has recommended products and a good explanation of how charging technology works.
