Previous phone (Microsoft Windows 10 Lumia 950) would read texts as they came in and give me options to read and reply as needed (in both my 2019 Kia Sorento and 2015 Nissan Rogue). New XR won't do this. I can connect using CarPlay and a charging cable, but this is nuts. I shouldn't have to tether my phone to the car every time I get in. It should work through Bluetooth, just like the Lumia 950.
Any thoughts? Am I missing something? Is there an app out there that could make this work? Is there a workaround?
    Any help would be appreciated.

You can ask Siri to read texts out loud to you.
“Siri read me that text that just came in”

Looks like your post in the Kia forums answered that question.

    Thanks for the reply.
Yes, you are correct, I got a couple of responses from that forum, but they are both Android based fixes, nothing to help with the XR.
