How to prevent photos backing up to iCloud?

Hi,

My iCloud is almost full with backup up photos. However, I have all the photos I need on my PC, so I really don’t want iCloud to automatically upload my photos

Setting > iCloud > Photos:
Turning off “iCloud photo library” asks this question:

“Do you want to download a copy of your iCloud library onto this phone?”

For me, the answer is “no, clear all the photos in iCloud” because my X’s photos are correct while the iCloud had 100’s of ghost photos.

However, I can’t choose “no”, I only have these options:
- Remove from iPhone
- Download photos and videos
- Cancel

How can I remove iCloud syncing without harming\removing any photos on my X?

Thanks

Only the photos that haven’t fully downloaded onto the device will be removed. Having said that, why don’t you just login to the iCloud website from your computer, download ALL of the photos therein into your computer and then delete those photos from iCloud. The results will sync to your iPhone and other connected devices. It will also free up iCloud storage space.

You can always put the photos you want back on your iPhone.

Thanks D,

Would deleting photos from iCloud also remove them from my phone?

Or are the photos on my phone safe after deleting from iCloud?

Thanks

BTW, DropBox autonsynced photos and then deleted all photos from all devices that I removed from the cloud. I’m afraid of this from happening again ;)
