I think 256GB would have been way overkill for me. Even my 128GB 7 Plus was barely 20% full at the time of wipe and sell. Thanks to cloud storage, I feel it’s entirely possible to opt for a smaller storage device and save some coin.

I almost went with the 64gb, but opted to just be safe and get the 256 even though it's probably going to be more than I need. My 64gb 6s had over 30gb free.

Apple Music, iCloud photo library, etc. all help a lot. I also have unlimited data so I stream my podcasts rather than download them.

Ahhhh to have unlimited data again without having to decide between streaming and my kid going to college one day!

when your kid hits 15 and keeps hitting their limit within the first week you'll understand! and because she's on her phone so much she won't need college. win-win! ;)

I have a 64 GB with 47 GB’s free. I went that route because I don’t store music. I use Apple Music. Also, I have 45 GB’s of pics and videos in iCloud storage. No way I needed a 256.

I remember when I use to download music from bearshare and limewire. Had thousands of songs but never listened to them. Must’ve just been a phase I was going through. Lol. Since then I’ve deleted all songs and am content with just streaming from pandora or tunein

This is me, but I got the 256gb just in case. Next round I'll go back down if I don't even come close, but going from the 6s to the X I wanted to make sure I was covered :)

I have a 128 GB 7 Plus, juste picked up a 64 GB X... we shall see if it’s enough. With unlimited data and iCloud I think it will be ok.

Depends on how much space you used/had left on your 7 Plus. If you were over 64gb you might be in trouble -- though iCloud photo library will unload more photos probably

I was using like 57 GB and most of that was photos (which are all uploaded to iCloud) and the next largest chunk of storage was from music (which I have an Apple Music subscription).

Hopefully I’ll be good...

If things get tight, I may enable "Offload Unused Apps"...

But yeah, with cloud storage and unlimited data plans, having a ton of storage isn't a complete necessity I think. Will see in the long run I guess...

I’m testing it for you ;) I figured I could get by with 64gb but got 256 so we will see how it does by next year.
