If I leave my phone off and don't do anything on it the battery last forever.

I like smart invert, but it makes the photos in some apps have inverted colors.

Apple needs a true dark mode.

Agreed, would love a true dark mode to go with the OLED display. Additionally, he makes a good suggestion to use the Accessability shortcut. If you set it up for Smart Invert, you can switch between the Smart Invert and normal (when you have pictures you want to see) by triple clicking the power button.

Maybe we’ll see a Dark Mode in 11.3 or 12.0

Hardly a news. OLED display are very efficient in showing blacks. I really don’t know why Apple isn’t providing for a dark mode on the iPhone X

It is time for a true dark mode. Come on Apple. And all apps should have an option for a dark mode. (and no "smart invert" doesn't cut it, it makes some apps and photos look weird)

I’ve been wishing for a dark mode since I made the jump to iPhone years ago (previously was on BlackBerry). I used to jailbreak to be able to have simple changes like a dark theme, change the font and some other basic features that Apple really should allow users to customize. I stopped jailbreaking my phones when I upgraded to the 6 and stayed stock since then. I do miss the little changes I was able to do on JB. Maybe one day Apple will allow us to make some basic changes to the phones we use on a daily basis. Here’s to wishing

Oooh - good tip for power button, thanks. Like the invert a lot b/c it also hides the ears / notch. GTK there’s a way to switch for photos, etc other than Turing invert on/off in settings!

I don;t hate the notch all that much - just want it to be inconspicuous to others: at work, on transit, etc. Feel like a mark with the ears showing!

Just use a predominately black wallpaper to save on juice. Black uses little to no power on the OLED screen. If you have a dark mode in your favorite apps turn those on also.

Seems silly that Apple didn't offer a true dark mode with the introduction of the OLED screen. It's well known how well it handles blacks and how much more improved battery life can be because of it.

I added it to control center. Another option than the side button.

I don't like that using Smart Invert disables True Tone.
