Ready to purchase and SE however, the quality of the ear/microphone has me hesitant as I don't use Bluetooth. Your honest thoughts are appreciated.

I am only a few days into my SE and the call quality has been solid. I hear everyone and they hear me!!

My experience is all my iPhones lacked the volume I need. None have been as loud as my Wife's old LG. One trick is to go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing Aids > Toggle on Hearing Aid Mode.
This increased the volume of my Wife's 5c a lot. My old 5 upped a little. Worth a try.
