Why am I unable to get audio alerts on my calendar events?

I can't get an audio alert on my calendar events; just a vibration

On my IPhone SE I have events set in Calendar and have audio alert set for a certain time before the events, but all I get is the vibration and no sound alert which is what I need.

If all your other alerts are working fine then you must have Calendar Alerts set to None is Settings>Sounds>Calendar Alerts

If you are not receiving any sounds then check the mute switch on the side of your device

Be sure notifications are set in Settings -> Notifications > Calendar
Tap on "upcoming events"

Choose sound alert and "Alerts" at the bottom.
