Will it be on 3/31 at midnight? Shipping dates show 4/14-4/18 so it'd be nice to have it a lot sooner.

    Sim free, silver 64gb.

Will tmobile give me a bad time adding insurance if I decide to go carrier insurance due to the sim free? I called and they say no but don't want any issues, if anyone has had experience that'd be great.

I also believe that in store pickup is an option too. I think it's easier to add carrier insurance if you get a branded phone, but that's just what I think. I don't have personal experience with this.

I hope you're not in Canada. Here, even if I buy an iPhone from Apple, they'd be like "Nope. That's not our phone. We're not insuring it".

Carrier insurance? Do yourself a favor and check out the alternatives like AppleCare Plus, or Squaretrade. Usually they work out to be cheaper and better than carrier insurance.

I tried asking Apple directly when you could reserve a phone for pickup and they said they couldn't give any information on when...so useful. I'm just hoping one will be available Thursday before I need to go to work. It's too bad we have no idea how big of an interest there will be or how many phones each store is getting...it feels a bit like playing the lottery.

I do have Applecare added but rather be safe all around for $10 to protect against theft/loss

I personally don't worry about losing it or being stolen, I'd be more prone to dropping it. Besides I've had carrier insurance and their "refurbished" phones have left a lot to be desired.

There is no reserve for pickup for the SE. There's only upgrade, purchase outright, and then pick up at store or have shipped to you. The option to reserve, go in and then pay in not available for the SE at this time. To pickup in store, you must upgrade or pay ahead of time. At least when I picked mine up. Ordered at 11:00am...picked up at noon. Silver SIM Free 64GB

Got it. Every morning at 8am Apple Refreshes their in store availability so go to the website and attempt to buy and check availability. There's a small window pending which phone and store, but you pay and pick up in store for sure. I happen to live within like 20 mins from 6 stores. Yes, that's crazy...

This is great to know, thanks! Is that time 8am PST, or EST, or even local time?

Whatever your store time zone is. Based on my conversation over the phone, if you can afford SIM Free Unlocked (which works on every carrier and is worth more for resale, there are more choices). Order it up and when you get there just swap your SIM and your good.

Sort of, but backwards. The SIM Free will run all US LTE Bands making it available to both CDMA and GSM Networks. So no, the Version is different in "Variant" like the AT&T is A1633 I believe and the SIM Free is A1632. Nonetheless, I just moved my SIM from my 6s AT&T to the Unlocked SIM Free SE and everything is fine. If you have concerns ask Apple. Verizon will tell you it has to be Verizon.

I plan to buy SIM Free because unlocked phones are the best! Glad you mentioned this, because I'm seeing that it is available at my local apple store, hopefully it will be available tomorrow too, and if I can't make it, Monday.
