The app doesn't crash when I try to add a location. But it does crash back to the location list. As soon as I type a letter, it goes back to the list page with the +.
Same here, with BeWeather3 version 3.1.17 and iPadOS 13.3.1. On my old iPad Air, with iOS 12.4.5 (latest for that device), the app drops to the Home Screen ("crashes"). It's still visible in the app switcher, so it's not really crashed, just not "frontmost". I've used and loved BeWeather for over six years, but this is pretty inconvenient, since I loke to check the weather at global sporting events.

After some further checking, I was able to add a location on 02/08, after the latest updates to iOS and BeWeather3. So I suspect this problem is related to a web API the app uses, probably to obtain likely completions to the entry. That would explain how it could just pop up on two different iOS versions.

I just tried to add a location, and have had the same experience that both @bdtrader and @dollface have reported.

Do you have lock screen, notification center, and banners on in settings> notifications? Also in the app is "all" set for notifications?
Yes. Again they used to work for me. Did complete uninstall, restart and installed fresh version.

When you go to settings > BeWeather, does it show a Push ID and Push Token?

I even tried to copy and paste a location, but it did the same way.

I can add locations with no problems. I just can’t get alerts. I am on the latest release. Odd

I gave up on this app a long time ago. Updates are infrequent.

I show push tokens also. I always had "always" set. I haven't received alerts for many months.

So how does one request an update? I need to add a city but it won’t let me. Thank you!

The app designer (Pfluger) has to. Hopefully he will see the requests and problems users are having.

Updated to 3.1.19 and location add is working normally; what a weird failure this was. I was preparing to rely on Windy. Thanks, @pfluger.

@pfluger I know this thread is for iPhone platform, but I installed on iPad, and App Store says it works on iPad, but there is no way to get into Settings, the 3 lines in the top left corner are missing. Is there a separate app for iPad?

@dollface, I've been using it on iPad for years..., on original iPad Air and now on iPad 6. And I don't believe there are different versions. Could you identify your device and iOS version? There might be a screen size problem, since there are now so many different ones.

I was just coming here to remove my last post. I wasn’t aware that you swipe over from the left to open up a sidebar that has a Settings icon it. I’m all good now. Thank you so much

No BeWeather alerts during these recent Storms and Tornados in my area. I doubled check my settings and they are correct.

Apple bought Dark Sky. Dark Sky is stopping its API in 2021. What does that mean for BeWeather who gets its data from Dark Sky?
