I use a free app called ShopShop. It is made for shopping lists, but I use it for any type of todo list I need to make.

Any suggestions for a Wunderlist replacement? Of course it would be great if there's some way to import lists from Wunderlist but I'm not holding out high hopes for that. Needs to work on iPhone for sure, iPad compatibility would be nice. Main use is lists for stuff like packing vehicles for camping, grocery lists, various shopping lists and are shared between my wife and myself. So for example the grocery list is shared and we can both add to it then when one of us goes to the store and buys the things and checks them off it's synced with everyone. Oh, browser access would be nice as well but not required (haven't been to the Wunderlist site in months now). Free or paid apps are fine, but would prefer not to have a recurring subscription cost.

edit: I've never used anything like the built in iOS Notes app or anything so I don't know if something like that would work. I came to Apple two years ago from Android and we were using Wunderlist well before that for cross platform capability.

OurGroceries is great for sharing lists with others. It's mostly about groceries, but you can make it what you want.

I suggest checking out Anylist. There is a free option and subscription. With the subscription you can do a lot more customization and add the functionality to the Apple Watch as well.

For your type of use that you described, I would recommend "SimpleNote" app. This is cross-platform, free form and web based too. And it's free. I use it exactly like yours such as grocery/shopping list etc, and always update it as I scratch something out and add something etc. I do use Reminder, Note and Errands list that comes with my calendar app, but they are somewhat more regimented.

I tried Any.do and Todoist that have a lot of great functionalities.
I have also tested Microsoft:to-do but I am still staying with Wunderlist (for now) because I cannot find an equivalent to Wunderlist: Quick Capture :(
This app helps me record my thoughts in the least amount of time possible and I have to do this very often during meetings or even conversations. With the other apps the process of creating a new task is often too long and end up procrastinating and at the end of the day forgetting to create my note ....

So maybe I should open a thread how to replace Wunderlist:Quick add :)

If you do not have the need to create task on the spot, then Any.do or even Microsoft's To-do may be a good alternative

I use Things3
Not cheap but it’s a great app
Syncs on my iPhone 7 Plus & iPad Pro 10.5”
There is a Mac version but it’s $49. Wow!
Good Luck
