User's Review of iPad app ~ Approval process

Does this mean developers approve users reviews before they are published now?

I recently (a week ago) submitted a review for a iPad app.
The review has not been published. Many other users reviews (apparently submitted at later dates) have been published

I contacted Apple and was told :

"review might need to be approved before it's published, so it might not appear immediately. You may want to contact directly the developer as they’re the one who maintains and monitors the app"

Only Apple can answer that question for you. As the reviews are submitted through iTunes, Apple has full control. I would be very surprised if developers approved reviews given by users of their app.

No, they don't. They can send the reviewer a message via Apple email. I've received 2 from developers.
