I have a Metapod masquerading as a Caterpie?

The reason I know he?s actually a Metapod (aside from his appearance, of course) is because it costs 50 Candies to evolve him, whereas my Caterpies only require 12 Candies for an evolution.

Why did his name fail to change during his evolution?

Most likely a bug. They just released an update today with minor bug fixes.
