I’ll use Rattata as an example, but my question applies to all Pokémon. If I have enough Rattata Candy to Evolve one of my Rattata, but instead of tapping on Evolve, I Transfer the Rattata to the Professor, do I lose any Rattata candy? Or do the Rattata candies go to the Rattata Candy “bank,” so to speak?

Do I suffer any other kind of penalty for doing this?

I’m asking because I’m trying to postpone as many Evolutions as possible so that I can so that I can maximize my the benefit of my Lucky Egg.
