Where are my games?

My son upgraded from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 6 and now the games he's played for years are gone.
For example, when he logs into "Dragonvale" there is no record of his current game, and wants him to start a new one.
He has spent money on some of these games, and doesn't want to start all over again.

Has he logged into Game Center? A lot of games store their save data within Game Center so people don't lose their progress.
