    i restore my phone a lot because i don't like to go through my phone and delete things one by one, but for a few months now i haven't been able to do that because after i do my twitter app doesn't allow me to get notifications it tells me i can't and i have tried everything to fix it that i've seen online. do i need to contact apple? it's not the twitter app itself because it works perfectly fine on my ipad mini.

    If the app allows for notifications then the iPhone will give the user the control to allow said notifications. Having said that, I, too, restore my iPhones quite a bit, but I have NEVER come across anything like that with any of the Twitter-related apps I've installed over the years, In fact, the only time I've had an issue with Twitter and my device was in regard to two-step verification. With that in mind, do you have two-step verification enabled for Twitter?

    Be sure to set notifications in the app's settings as well as the phone's settings. The restore may be resetting the settings to default in the app.

    i have tried that but it says something along the lines of failed to change settings of notifications inside the app. and no i don't have that.

    You don't have settings in your Twitter app? You need to turn notifications for Twitter on in your phone's notifications settings. Then the app settings will show.
    Tap "banner" at the bottom.

    no i know that. i'm saying after i restore it and i redownload the twitter app i go straight to the settings to turn on my notifications and it tells me "failed to change notification settings"

    So you have Twitter notifications set right in the phone's settings and you go to the Twitter app but can't set notifications there? Can you show screen shots?

    Do you have "Allow Notifications" toggled on for Twitter in the phone's settings?
