SnapChat Audio No Longer Works

For some reason the audio on my Snapchat has stopped working. Reinstalling the app made no difference. This isn't an issue for any other apps. This happening on my test iPhone 6. I would rather not hard reset it if I had the choice. Is there a known fix / work-around? Thanks.

Hard reset is the holding of the home and power buttons until you see the Apple Logo and let go of the buttons... that's OK to do... you may hesitate to restore the iOS - which is understandable, but isn't that big a deal either.

So after nothing worked, I found out that the physical ringer switch was preventing SnapChat sounds. Once I turned it off I was able to hear sounds. I'm not sure why this impacted SnapChat and no other application.
