The look of the icon graphically have to catch my attention before I can decide to read what it is about. If the graphic is great, the resolution is good in the application description page, I download the app to give it a try. That is if I'm randomly searching for a new photo album app, or game app, or note taking app.

Usually I read about something or hear about it, then read reviews. Though, reading some of these comments, perhaps I should try more apps, and then just delete the ones I don't use periodically.

If it's free I install it anyway, if it costs money, I look for a free version, if there isn't, I start reading the reviews

I'm all about reviews and admiration for the app. If the app benefits me or has good reviews then I'll buy it.
