Im Alexander Clauss, an iOS developer from Germany. Ive just released a new App called "Pado" for iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad. I hope you like it.

The App Pado is all about geo tracking. It can be used like ordinary fitness trackers, for example to record tracks of your jogging activity (including speech output which tells you about current speed, duration and distance), draw them on a map, analyze speed, pace etc. graphically and compare the progress over time as bar chart.

But the App goes much further. The key feature are location-based actions. This means you can define actions which are executed automatically when you enter or leave certain locations or regions (the App does not need to be running or active). The actions cover playing music/sound effects, post notifications, but also supports recording tracks/routes. Via "WebHook" you can even trigger actions outside of the device.

So for example a jogger would be able to define the locations of the start and end of his jogging path, configure the App to automatically record a track between start end end of his route, then the App is doing everything automatically in the background. All the user needs to care about is to not forget the phone at home ;-)
When the user starts the App to analyze his/her progress over time, all the data is already there.

Its even possible to define time constrains for these actions to limit the execution of the actions to certain date and time spans. So for example if the user leaves home between 5 and 7pm (the users favorite jogging time) the App records a track, but if the user leaves home in the morning to go to work, the App stays inactive.

Another feature of the App is the time tracking which allows to log the time and duration you stay at certain locations. This can be useful if you need to visit certain clients regularly and need to know when and how long youve worked at your clients.

The App even works great on an iPod Touch 5G or iPads without GPS hardware (in areas with good WLAN coverage, of course). Unlike most other geo tracking Apps, Pado" is able to filter the (less accurate) WLAN location information so that it is usable just fine.

On the iPhone 5s theres also a step counter. Almost all data can be analyzed as bar charts, tracks can be drawn on a map. Theres also export and import features for Tracks (as GPX or KML files), iCloud sync and more.

If interested, please check it out. I like to hear your opinion and would also like to get suggestions for future releases.

The latest update of Pado does now also support the Apple Watch. You can start and stop the recording of Tracks directly from the Watch, also the Step Counter can be controlled from the Watch.

There’s also a widget for the notification center available, so you can access compass, geo location, speed and other information from within the notification center without the need to unlock the device and launch the App.
