Is there any weather app in iTunes that can show temperature of configured locations all the time in notifications bar updating hourly/daily etc automatically even when the app is not actively running

wasn't there a setting where you could have a little weather icon/temp in the status bar on iOS5, but they did away with that on iOS6?

Notification does show weather I do but only for the current location. I do t know of any app that shows weather for multiple locations as a notification.

The Today tab of notification center in iOS 7 should have the current weather. At least on an iPhone. If not check the toggle for weather in the Settings app for notification center.
