After a couple of years visiting festivals Wonky Films have now released their short film Why did the chicken cross the road? online. The short film finally provides us with the answer to one of lifes greatest questions, a question more baffling than whether the chicken or the egg came first, but now Wonky have the true story behind the famous question. The journey follows Mr Chicken all the way from his troubled childhood to the most famous moment of his life.

The film was a collaborative effort with Wonky Films teaming up with design duo Peskimo for the films designs and illustration, and Echoic Audio for the sound design, then packing this altogether in a fast paced short that takes us from Mr Chicken's childhood right through to adulthood and his life defining moment in just over 2 minutes.

In conjunction with the online release of the short film, Wonky Films have also completely redeveloped the films companion iOS app. The app which is available for free via the Apple app store for both iPad and iPhone contains the full film, plus a peek behind the scenes with additional content including storyboards, animatics and original designs by illustration duo Peskimo. Wonky have also added to the app their 2010 short film "You Must Be Joking" which features the stand up performance of comedian Adam Bloom and won the 'Shooting People Comedy Award' at the London Short Film Festival 2011.

Also included in the app are a bunch of addictive mini-games featuring the films protagonist Mr Chicken and his pesky enemies Robin and his gang. Players can test their reflexes with 'Whack-A-Robin' or go on a 'Quest for the Golden Egg'. Plus their are hundreds of laughs to be had with the 'Joke Generator'. All these games now feature Game Centre leader boards, achievements and social sharing so players can compete to be the best!
