Whenever I try to go to HD on my iPhone 4 on youtube, it won't let me because I am on 3G and not WiFi. I am grandfathered into unlimited data with AT&T, and this is really irritating, because I should be able to use as much data as I want. Is there a way to watch HD videos over 3G?

Is it on the YouTube app or the website?

Try watching it on HD on both the app and the website. See if it works.

A couple of years ago you could have watched HD over 3G. Strange.

Only with an app like McTube or similar, that gives you that option. Well, I believe you can still select the HQ stream on youtube.com in Safari. Edit: yes, you can.

McTube is pretty good for this kind of thing. Be aware though that the grandfathered unlimited plans on AT&T do throttle you after some amount of data.

Here's another app to try if you want:

    https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/youp...mUvbUpU2153198

It allows you to select the quality of the video when using cellular or wifi:
    Youtube Quality Over Cellular-imageuploadedbytapatalk1387194629.739245.jpg

Btw the iPhone 4 only supports videos up to 720p so select that one.
