I am posting this here but please let me know if it should be in another section.

I have a few questions for those of you that are developers. Do you write apps for both iOS and android? If so, which do you prefer? Which platform would you recommend for someone new to app development? Where is the best place(books, classes, etc) to start learning app development? I would like to start learning and would prefer to work on iOS, but I want to get opinions from those of you with experience. Thank you so much in advance. I appreciate any help you can give.

I just dabble and have never actually released an iOS app, but I dabble with iOS. I guess Android would be a natural fit for me since I'm a Java programmer by trade, but I love my iOS devices too much.
I recommend the tutorials on raywenderlich.com.
