Apple Maps iCloud back up

It would be great if map bookmarks could be backed up to iCloud. I just recently did a "restore as new" on my iPhone 5. It didn't occur to me I would loose all the destinations I had saved

Thank you for the suggestion and maybe Apple will consider that in their plans for the new OS.
